Martin Beate is coming from Ljubljana, Slovenia, currently living and working in Berlin.
Their work is about sculpting performances; combining visual art practices and contemporary dance, with the focus on Japanese butoh and urban improvisation. Environmental research is integral part of their movement and sound material on dissolving surrounding space that includes cities gentrification.
Martin explores structural relations between architectural and dancing bodies, confronting them to inspire each other. She is choosing specific spaces to expose their problematic in order to create altered sphere through experimental moving images and distorted rhythms.
